Past life had me running 35mm projectors. At one point they were poorly maintained, and the films split nearly every showing. I developed a performance anxiety that haunts me to this day: nightmares of films running, and I cannot find the projection booth, and I *know* disaster is about to strike, but there is nothing I can do to mitigate the damage. No control whatsoever.
Squidman, once again, is enacting a moment at work in which bad news is ham-fistedly presented as good news. Every step of the way, the voices tell us that the shitty things that are happening to us are actually good for us. What doesn't kill, etc.

I'm not buying it.
